MEkeSIMの由来英語版 2024年3月22日 by cca_user About MEkeSIM Do you happen to know “Sakura Neko (cherry blossom cat)”? A Sakura Neko is one who used to be a stray cat and now lives in a people community together with the people. Sakura Nekos get neutered, then accepted by people communities. As a kind of notice of being neutered, these cats get their ear slightly cut. Because the ear looks like a cherry blossom petal, they are called Sakura Neko=Cherry Blossom Cat. A background where Sakura Nekos were born has a sad fact that a lot of stray cats have been administratively slaughtered. Once a stray cat is neutered, no new life comes to the earth unwelcomely. And the cat, Sakura Neko, will be able to live together with a people community by getting understanding from the people. We created this brand “MEkeSIM” and its character with an intention to nurture and gain recognition and understanding to Sakura Neko, by way of our businesses. “Meke” which means tortoiseshell cat is combined with “eSIM” to be “MEkeSIM”. Our intention with MEkeSIM is a minor and insignificant one, for example, compared to SDGs. Nonetheless, to coexist is what is most asked for now in this world and is one of ways for a variety of lives on the earth. Stray cats are not wild cats. They used to be fed and kept by people and later abandoned. Cats born from the abandoned cats become stray cats, too. Because cats are basically prolific, the number of stray cats can increase geometrically if they are left or even fed by people who sympathize with them. People communities are easily troubled by the increasing number of stray cats and this results in administratively slaughtering them. A stray cat can become a Sakura Neko by way of a process called TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return). There are some local governments who are positively taking this approach in order to reduce the number of stray cats administratively slaughtered. Nonetheless, a fact is that this TNR activity as well as activities to nurture and gain understanding from people communities to Sakura Neko are heavily dependent on volunteers and veterinarians with goodwill. With having this intention in our mind, as an ICT engineering company, we are aimed even at developing a support system for the coexisting communities between people and Sakura Nekos.
